March 2007
Dear Old Cutler Bay Resident,
At the March meeting of the annual Old Cutler Bay Homeowners Association we approved the following projects. However, our vote on the traffic circles was only for a consensus of the owners present. Final approval will need to come from you, the owners, in the form of a ballot the city will be sending out to each and every household within the next month. I hope you all vote yes for the traffic circles because speeding vehicles have made our neighborhood unsafe for pedestrian traffic in any form, not to men the exposure to traffic accidents. I would like to believe most people don’t mean to speed. The streets are just wide open and everyone is used to traveling fast, and everyone else is doing it, so that it has become the norm. These circles will help us to remember to slow down. Of course this does not apply to those vehicles we all know which are repeat offenders. In that case, they will be “forced” to slow down all the same. As one resident so succinctly put it “please hurry up and get them before somebody runs me over”!
1. Overwhelming support for traffic circles
2. Residents approved security cameras at guard gate
3. Jessie, head guard, will prepare a monthly Wackenhut report and have it available at guard gate, as well we will posting it on oldcutlerbay.com website
4. Police incidents or Wackenhut alerts of any kind will be posted immediately on OCB website
